We were delighted to kick off the New Year with a new name! Recently, we celebrated our new name and opened registration for our spring programs with an Open House and we were thrilled to see so many parents, youth and community leaders in attendance. At the event we were able to also unveil our new website and through the generous contributions of attendees able to raise funds for arts programming for youth.
I am thankful to everyone who has been part of our 34-year history. It has been a communal journey of primarily Pilsen residents that through their dedication and perseverance opened the path that allowed us to get this far. No one can be more grateful to our founding executive director, Jean Parisi, to many of our long-standing teaching artists and Board members who through our evolution have remained steadfast in their support and their presence continues to be felt within our organization and our public events.
Change is never easy and like a living organism an organization is always in flux. Organizations that thrive have always been ready to bend, flex and adapt to change. This re-branding initiative did not happened in a vacuum. Much thought, financial resources and community and global support went into making this a reality.
Implementing strategic growth practices for an organization takes vision and hard work and our new name not only reflects our dual language constituents but it speaks to the way we see the arts “elevating the quality of life” of our neighbors.
We feel confident that our new “look “ gives us a much needed edge in this competitive niche of nonprofit community-based arts organizations operating in the lower west side of Chicago. ElevArte Community Studio (formerly Pros Arts Studio) will continue to provide FREE high-quality arts programming throughout the year.
