Summer Work Here!

[caption id="attachment_137" align="alignleft" width="300" caption="Lily Ordaz"][/caption] We at Pros Arts Studio would like to congratulate two of our students participating in the Mentorship Program. Heustolia Ordaz was recently accepted into the Gallery 37 Advanced Arts Education Program. “Lily” as we call her said to me one day “Anthony, I want to do this – they help you build your portfolio, you get to take classes downtown and in the Fall, you get out of school EARLY!” Regardless of her motivation, Lily got her stuff together, applied and was accepted two weeks ago. We’re very proud of Lily and really want to say that out loud! In addition, Lily got moving and applied to the BTOP program at Yollocalli Arts Reach. She interviewed and this summer will be part of an amazing program where she not only earns some cash to save for college (there may be occasional trips to the mall) but after successful completion, she is eligible to receive a brand spanking new MacBook laptop. That’s what I’m talkin’ about! So again – Good job Lilly!

Ricardo Manzo (recent member of the Mentorship Program) has been busy to getting his summer and money-making opportunities together (all for college of course).  Ricardo also applied to the Yollocalli Arts Reach program and so by Summer’s end, Ricardo will be working his way to putting some money in the bank and preparing for that college career at IIT (he says he’s good at math)! Both Ricardo and Lily have been PAS students for at least two years now. They’re amazing and we’re glad they’re doing so well!

Hold up, did I also mention they attend Juarez Community Academy High School? Oh snap!
