“Did You Make Me Look Cute?: The Photographer” Art&Grind #4

So we found ourselves again last night listening to the voices of working artists (photographers actually) during our 4th installment of Pros Arts Studio’s “Art&Grind Series”. For all those that might have forgotten, we designed this series of panels to feature working artists, illustrators, muralists, painters, conceptual artists, film makers… (what else?) to talk to our youth interested in pursuing these very same artistic career paths! It’s a career day spread out over the summer months basically! Anyway – that is what we did last night! We were joined by two photographers that shared with us their experiences, challenges, and high points this side of their careers. Analia Rodriguez who studied and trained as a photographer also finds herself organizing and coordinating people and communities; was joined by Rosy Torres - a self-taught “documenter” of the people, woodworker and traveler. One day in the near future I am going to video record these panels so we can share everything that’s talked about. It was a good night full of information for students. We strongly suggest more youth come out and join us (We had a full house last night!), if all turns out well Pros Arts Studio may just expand these panels to the Fall! Something to think about but not to snooze on folks!

Pros Arts Studio and the Each One/Reach One Teen Arts Mentorship Program would like to say thank you to both our panelist and to all of our youth guests that stopped by. Please join us for the next panel, August 10th to learn about filmmaking and video artists (some good stuff)! The panel will take place here at Dvorak Park from 5pm-6:30pm.

We look forward to seeing all of you there!

Mentorship Program Coordinator
