Tejer y Poder

Stephanie Barragan

Join us for an evening of Knit Power

We are the Tejer y Poder group.  We have been working for approximately six weeks on knit and crochet skills, learning various stitches and making numerous objects.  This showcase defines how much we have grown, and how we can work together in groups.  Tejer y Poder is more than just knitting and crocheting, its also about challenging people to see beyond the stereotypes of knitting/crochet and recognizing that anyone can do it—what was once impossible is now possible.  Yarn bombing is taking a space and making it our own with the knowledge we have learned from knit and crochet pieces.

Special thanks to After School Matters, Pros Arts Studio, and Dvorak Park.
